CaliDawn Soap Salves & Sundries is a handmade soap & body care company in the District of Columbia. CaliDawn offers Nature-inspired, Nature-infused products that are hand crafted in small batches Most soaps are crafted using a cold process method. Each carefully crafted product includes oils infused with dried herbs, flowers or barks that benefit the body.

I am the inspiration and creator of CaliDawn Soaps, Salves and Sundries. Born in California where I grew to love the sun, ocean, and all things natural and beautiful. That is the spirit I brought with me to Washington, DC as a Howard University graduate student in 1985. I’ve always been creative, drawn and inspired by nature, a gardener and lived from a place of wanting to create something from scratch and beautiful. As a mom of four, I made my own baby food, other natural products and planted seasonal gardens. In February 2016, I took a soap making class at the Franciscan Monastery in Northeast DC and the rest is history! I quit my full-time federal job to pursue my passion of soap making, and my initial love of providing speech and language services to persons with disabilities and their families because I desired to live and work from a place of beauty, love, healing, harmony, and purpose.
